Wine Warehouse is a multi-generational, family owned and operated, wholesale distributor of fine wine, beer and spirits for California.  Our warehouse in northern California is currently seeking a hard working and dedicated FULL-TIME Warehouse Lead - Night Shift.  This position is located in:

Richmond, CA.  The work hours are Monday through Thursday 4/10, starting at 7:00pm.

Under general supervision, assigns work schedule to work crew.  Trains warehouse workers and follows company guidelines to revise work assignments.  Is trained and certified to use hand-held electronic inventory devices to track, code, or mark merchandise. Follows oral or written work orders in the areas of order pulling, receiving, storing product properly. Leads the receiving, storing, packing, and shipping of company product. Maintains stock records and schedules. Familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Essential Duties (Primary) include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for staff training.
  • Is trained to safely and properly place received shipments into proper storage locations.
  • Completes receiving paperwork and documentation.
  • Monitors assigned workflow and working hours, with special emphasis on productivity and reduction of overtime hours.
  • Assigns large orders for pulling and scheduling for shipment.
  • Assigns personnel to assist in the restocking of each section when necessary.
  • Trains and guides crew in pulling orders for shipment.
  • Responsible for general cleanup of warehouse; includes sweeping warehouse floors, cleaning restrooms, and mopping spilled and/or broken products off warehouse floor.
  • Performs safety check for possible hazards of leaning pallets, exit doors being blocked, etc.
  • Rotates older stock within a location prior to placing new arrived stock into location.
  • Selects and pulls a large variety of cases and bottles for shipment to a single customer, making sure the vintage is correct, etc.
  • Ensures product is labeled properly for shipment and loaded in order onto the correct trailers/trucks.
  • Checks shipments to ensure that the correct product and quantity is being loaded.
  • Manually loads product into company delivery trucks.
  • Ensures safe work practices are being followed, including ensuring Warehouse personnel participate in stretching exercises.
  • Accounts for broken product or equipment, including proper cleanup and disposal.
  • Reports personnel issues to Warehouse Manager for follow up.
  • Sorts pallets and empty beer kegs.
  • Checks and receives inbound product and unloads shipments utilizing proper equipment.
  • Checks in all driver returns and delivery invoices, and restocks customer returns in proper locations of the warehouse.

Qualifications:

  • Elementary education is required.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays if required.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, order pickers, pallet jacks, and reach trucks to retrieve product from various warehouse locations, depending on the position.
  • Must be sufficiently familiar with various distribution processes in order to accomplish tasks according to deliver schedules and in a timely manner.

Under general supervision, is responsible for the supervision of all warehouse personnel engaged in the warehousing function, which involves pulling, loading and inventory control to ensure efficient and safe loading practices are followed and work is completed in a timely manner.  Responsible for the resolution and investigation of non-routine customer complaints.  This position is responsible for the daily operations of the warehouse facility, while developing and implementing policies and procedures which are consistent with company standards to ensure best practices are adhered to by all warehouse personnel.

  • Manages the efficient method of pulling orders and staging cases for loading trucks
  • Monitors outside trucking companies transporting Wine Warehouse products for delivery

  • Maintains the CHEP pallet program documentation to ensure pallet exchange documentation with all trucking companies and major chain customers which pick up at our warehouse
  • Coordinates the movement of products identified for destruction to the appropriate facility

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5-7 years operational and staff management experience in a warehouse environment

This resource is primarily responsible for the management of all statewide warehouse deliveries to customers.  Incumbent will develop and implement policies and procedures which are consistent with company standards to ensure that best practices are followed by outbound logistics personnel and partners.  Oversees the safe and timely delivery of goods and services to our customers.

Essential Duties (Primary) include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • This position is responsible for the daily customer shipping operations of Wine Warehouse facilities; reporting to the Director of Warehousing and Logistics. 
  • Partners with other warehouse management team members to support operations of warehouse drivers
  • Manages all Customer Delivery Logistics Partners. (Third party delivery services transporting Wine Warehouse products for delivery.) This includes Templeton Trading, Ryder Integrated Logistics and any others.
  • Plans the day-to-day delivery schedules, develops methods to provide quality service to customers. Authorizes overtime and controls costs within the department of responsibility.
  • Create and monitor KPIs to ensure goals are properly tracked and being met.
  • Confers with Sales to focus on meeting customer service objectives.
  • Responsible for Driver safety training program and operating procedures (DOT / OSHA)

Under close supervision, follows oral or written work orders in the areas of driver performance data input, setting of delivery appointments, general file maintenance, and preparation and physical aspects of routing the next day’s deliveries.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned or requested:

  • Route / Dispatch 40+ truck routes daily
  • Coordinate drivers’ routes according to customer request, DOT compliance, geographical and company policies
  • Notify drivers and warehouse management of schedule changes and assignments
  • Use routing software to perform daily routing, maintain software to improve routed performance
  • Participate in software improvements/upgrades or roll outs
  • Track and input driver data and hours in Excel spreadsheet or routing software
  • Partner with customer service department and sales team to resolve shipping/delivery discrepancies
  • File paperwork and manifest/trip sheets as needed
  • Pulls sample bottles of wine for sales personnel doing will-calls.

Under close supervision, follows directions from Warehouse Manager(s) to provide a wide variety of administrative and customer service support to sales personnel and external business partners.

Essential Duties (Primary) include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Warehouse Inventory Coordinator:

  • Responds to incoming phone calls to assist sales personnel, drivers with delivery concerns and special requests.
  • Processes inventory transactions within SAP, such as inputting customer returns in the system, stock transfers, and credits.
  • Compiles and maintains reports, records, and documentation reflecting the warehouse activities.
  • Processes product delivery exception reports left by the company delivery on a designated voicemail box specifying the reason(s) a product’s delivery was not made.
  • Transfers the product delivery exception reports onto a Google spreadsheet and distributes the information via email to the applicable sales divisions.
  • Enters information onto a spreadsheet and distributes to all sales divisions and the warehouse on an hourly basis; enabling sales and the warehouse to sort out issues and reship if necessary.
  • Works with the sales division and the warehouse management to research delivery problems.
  • Processes invoices and master pick for morning orders to ensure that correct product is delivered and proper signatures are obtained.
  • Performs cycle counts in the warehouse and ensures that product is organized and in correct quantities and locations.
  • Checks and receives inbound shipments from common carriers.
  • Performs accuracy checks on outbound orders to ensure that correct product is loaded for delivery.
  • Performs location checks, as listed in SAP system to ensure that correct product is in specific locations.
  • Coordinates with and assists other office staff members to service sales staff and suppliers with will calls or any other requests.
  • Examines drivers returns and delivery invoices.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience working in a warehouse environment in a support capacity is desired.

Uses hand truck or power devices to haul material to or from storage or work sites to designated areas, and stores items in bins, on floor, or on shelves for convenient removal.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other related duties may be assigned or requested:

  • Checks and receives inbound product and unloads shipments utilizing a forklift and ensures that the wheels of the trucks being unloaded have their wheels chocked before unloading begins.
  • Pulls customer and salespersons’ orders using warehouse equipment.
  • Accounts for broken product including proper clean up and disposal.
  • Restocks cases and pallets in proper location in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Rotates warehouse inventory to assigned locations.
  • Performs general cleanup of warehouse (including restrooms).
  • Sort pallets and empty beer kegs.
  • Checks in all driver returns and delivery invoices, and restocks customer returns in proper locations of the warehouse.
  • Ensures that the equipment is in good working condition and must report any equipment problems to warehouse management.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience working in warehouse/ distribution environment is desired.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays if required.

Uses hand truck or power devices to haul material to or from storage or work sites to designated areas, and stores items in bins, on floor, or on shelves for convenient removal.

Warehouse Inventory Coordinator:

  • Performs locations checks to ensure product is correctly located.
  • Reconciles inventory discrepancies against customer returns, shipping, receiving errors, and location errors.
  • Verifies product descriptions, bottle size and package match product code.
  • Prepares Cycle Counts sheets for daily cycle counts.
  • Physically counts inventory items to verify accuracy on a regular basis.
  • Ensures all products are properly rotated when cycle counting.
  • Plans cycle counting goals, (weekly, monthly)
  • Prepares monthly inventory adjustment reports.
  • Coordinates with Warehouse supervisor leads cycle count assistance.
  • Sorts product based on size, vintage, varietals and product code.
  • Rotates warehouse inventory to assigned locations
  • Prepares daily pre trip sheet for warehouse equipment and safety gear.

Secondary Responsibilities:

Commerce, CA.  The work hours are Monday through Friday, starting at 5:00 a.m.  Shift times may vary depending on business demands.

Operates a bobtail truck of less than 28,000 lbs. rated capacity with two axles to deliver products to customers.  Loads and unloads products, checks quantities of goods received, obtains proper signatures, and receives/collects payments for products delivered. Driving is confined within a specific area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned or requested:

  • Drives bobtail truck or commercial vehicle to deliver cases of wine, beer cases, beer kegs, and other products (approximately 500 miles round trip).
  • Makes pickups weighing approximately 45 lbs of wine and beer. Beer kegs weigh up to approximately 150 lbs. Note: Lifting beer kegs must be handled by two associates.
  • Checks in all deliveries with customer.
  • Rotates new inventory with old inventory.
  • Assists in loading and unloading products manually.
  • Inspects, cleans, and follows the Maintenance Check List on assigned vehicle.
  • Picks up empty beer kegs and other products that are returned for credit.
  • Deliver products to assigned customers in a prompt, safe, and business-like manner.
  • Obtains customer signature and collects payment for products delivered if applicable.
  • Returns all appropriate delivery receipts to Driver Supervisor at the end of the shift.
  • Performs daily pre/post trip inspection of vehicle.
  • Performs proper equipment maintenance as required.

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience as a Delivery Driver.
  • Possesses commercial license “B” (preferred) or class “C” driver license and maintains good driving record.  
  • Has knowledge of locating customer locations utilizing a GPS or a map.
  • Knowledge of basic math.
  • Must be able to speak and write in English

Under general supervision, assigns work schedule to work crew.  Trains warehouse workers and follows company guidelines to revise work assignments.  Is trained and certified to use hand-held electronic inventory devices to track, code, or mark merchandise. Follows oral or written work orders in the areas of order pulling, receiving, storing product properly. Leads the receiving, storing, packing, and shipping of company product. Maintains stock records and schedules. Familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

  • Responsible for staff training.
  • Is trained to safely and properly place received shipments into proper storage locations.
  • Completes receiving paperwork and documentation.

  • Checks shipments to ensure that the correct product and quantity is being loaded.
  • Manually loads product into company delivery trucks.
  • Ensures safe work practices are being followed, including ensuring Warehouse personnel participate in stretching exercises.
  • Accounts for broken product or equipment, including proper cleanup and disposal.
  • Reports personnel issues to Warehouse Manager for follow up.
  • Sorts pallets and empty beer kegs.
  • Checks and receives inbound product and unloads shipments utilizing proper equipment.
  • Checks in all driver returns and delivery invoices, and restocks customer returns in proper locations of the warehouse.

Qualifications:

  • Elementary education is required.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays if required.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, order pickers, pallet jacks, and reach trucks to retrieve product from various warehouse locations, depending on the position.
  • Must be sufficiently familiar with various distribution processes in order to accomplish tasks according to deliver schedules and in a timely manner.

Is responsible for leading the night pulling and loading operation. Is to ensure efficient and safe loading practices are followed and work is completed in a timely manner. Supervises equipment operators, office routing personnel, yard spotters, and general loading personnel. Is responsible for shift scheduling and has the latitude to revise schedules to accommodate special orders. Keeps records on all assigned personnel in relation to duty performance and timeliness of assigned tasks. Must ensure security procedures are followed at all times. Incumbent typically spends at least 80% performing these functions. Additional duties may be assigned.

  • Accountable for supervising warehouse personnel in shift operations
  • Ensures warehouse staff follow safety practices during pulling and loading operations

  • Suggests and implements improvements to processes

  • Conducts ongoing staff training and coaching including formal routine performance evaluations.

Qualifications:

  • Basic computer knowledge helpful.
  • Must be able to walk, bend, reach and climb. Position requires pushing, pulling and lifting (average case weight – 50 pounds or more).
  • Certified forklift operator.

Under close supervision, follows directions from Warehouse Manager(s) to perform the job responsibilities.  This position provides a wide variety of administrative and customer services support to sales personnel and external business partners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned or requested.

  • Processes invoices and master pick for morning orders to ensure that correct product is delivered and proper signatures are obtained.
  • Performs Cycle counts in warehouse and ensures that product is organized and in correct quantities and locations.
  • Processes inventory transactions within SAP such as inputting customer returns in system, stock transfers, and credits.
  • Properly checks and received inbound shipments from common carriers
  • Performs accuracy checking on outbound orders to ensure that correct product is loaded for delivery
  • Perform location checks throughout the warehouse to ensure that correct product is in specific locations as listed in SAP system.
  • Answers phones and email to assist sales personnel, drivers, and customers with delivery concerns and special requests.
  • Coordinates and assists other staff members in the warehouse office to service sales staff, and suppliers with will calls or any other requests while waiting to receive service at the warehouse.
  • Pulls customers and salespersons’ orders using warehouse equipment
  • Pulls sample bottles of wine for sales personnel doing will-calls
  • Examines drivers returns and delivery invoices.
  • Compile and maintains reports, records and documentation to reflect the warehouse activities.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-4 years’ experience working in a warehouse environment in a support capacity
  • Attention to details on paperwork is critical for this position.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as invoices, Drivers’ manifests and other documents generated between drivers and our customers.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, including e-mails
  • Must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interface with sales staff and customers
